This breathtaking project began with an initial meeting where we learned about our client's vision and discussed all of the details. Then, we used the information we gathered to design the project and select the best materials. Once our client approved the design, we executed the construction phase and brought the plan to life. Initial Meeting for Backyard Landscaping Project

During the initial meeting with the homeowner, we walked the property to assess the site conditions and discuss the parameters of their backyard landscaping project. We discussed the location of the swimming pool, drainage, retaining walls, gray and decorative stamped concrete, fire pit, pool bath, landscape lighting, and landscaping. While meeting with customers for the first time, we strive to gather as much information as possible in order to prepare a plan that showcases the project and meets the client's needs. Gathering information also helps us provide an accurate estimate for the client to review.

Backyard Landscaping Project Design Process

Once the plan for the backyard landscaping project was completed, we met with the client again to discuss the layout of their project and go over any necessary changes or tweaks based on the client’s preferences. After the layout was set in stone, we began the process of honing in on the materials to be used. Generally, we have recommendations listed on the plan to show clients in our showroom. This way, families can see the products in person so they can effectively choose the products they prefer. Once the design process was completed, the construction process began. For this project, we used the following products:

Construction Process for Backyard Landscaping Project

At the starting point of this landscaping project, we removed the sod in the backyard and excavated the retaining walls. We then installed crushed rock in the excavated wall trenches and compacted it in place using a vibratory plate compactor. We stacked the walls and built the fire pit. The fire pit had a gas hook-up. The grades were cut and filled for the pool construction and compacted in place. The pool was constructed, and concrete was poured as per the design. The pool bath was installed shortly after that. Lighting was installed on the retaining wall columns. Lastly, landscaping was installed to soften the hardscape.
